There are thousands of different types of Molds with many different identifying factors such as color and texture. Most of these forms are actually harmless to humans. The one that is most commonly referred to as " Household Mold" is a species of Black Mold that can potentially be harmful to any pets of people who come into contact with the toxins this fungi produces. Mold thrives in climates that are dark, wet and warm. Thats why they are mostly found in areas susceptible to these key attributes, such as a basement or crawlspace with a leaky pipe or under a kitchen cabinet with a dripping pipe.

Black mold is easily identifiable by its distinct color and circular shape. In common cases, exposure to the spores results in an allergic reaction or cold like symptoms such as chronic fatigue, fever, rash, headaches, sneezing, soar throat and eye irritations.

What To Do?!

The safest defense when it comes to defending you and your family/home from Black Mold is guarding and preventing climates associated with the key factors. If you detect areas that are wet or have active leaks, fix the issues before more can arise. Also treat current mold spores promptly and safely using a mask or respirator and using other protective agents to cover your arms and legs and any exposed skin to prevent the chance of an allergic reaction.
